Unpolished

Short stories, fragments, drafts, story ideas, inspiration

All content shared in my stories is rough, mostly unedited, and unfiltered. Occasionally, you might find a polished chapter or three, but it will be rare (for now). And I’ll label it: POLISHED just so there are no misunderstandings.

All content here is copyrighted to Elise Ruin in the first instance (which means you can’t just copy and paste the words and call it your own), but feel free to write fan-fiction, your own stories (using my stories as inspiration) and share them with me.

Why am I sharing my soul?
Life is too short to have so many ideas and drafts, drawings, and illustrations hidden away on my laptop and in my notebooks. Perhaps, you will be inspired, find your next read, or just enjoy scraping your claws through my mind while reading.

There is also the human element, you know, due to machines and the witch hunts surrounding them. Here, at least, you can see… How I write, my original ideas (which are often quite manic) and my illustrations that often go with the books.

I normally try and stick to the Chicago Manual of Style writing guide when polishing, writing after the first (sometimes third) drafts and editing, but when I first start… I’m in free fall and the writing bug takes over. It’s enough to make my fingers work fast enough to get the words down, let alone giving any of my creative attention to where a comma should be, or if a dialogue tag is correct.
